Maintenance staff, lifeguards, swim instructors, and other personnel from Aquatics were integral in creating the dance, whether they were brainstorming how their daily labor could be showcased in live performance or thinking through event logistics like parking and water safety. Forklift artists shadowed maintenance workers, attended lifeguard trainings, and had weekly meetings with Aquatics office staff for several months before starting any rehearsals.
