87% of people surveyed said they had new insights or reflections about Bartholomew Pool or Austin’s public pool system based on the performance. Audience members gained a new understanding of:

• The sheer number of public pools in Austin, the amount of work to maintain a pool, and the importance of the maintenance staff
• The training lifeguards undergo and the diversity of the lifeguard staff in both age and background
• The history of Bartholomew Pool
• The role city pools play as a gathering place within the community
• The need for support and funding for Austin’s Aquatics system
