Austin Parks and Recreation Aquatics: Maintenance and Other Staff Maintenance workers, lifeguards, and other Aquatics staff lent their expertise to the project through production development, providing histories and archives of the pool. Forklift Danceworks choreographers job shadowed and worked along maintenance staff to research movement that became choreographed sequences in the show.

Maya Kidd

Maya Kidd hails from Austin and is in her 5th season of lifeguarding. She is a student at Marist College in New York where she is a tour guide and “ambassador” for the school. Last fall she studied in Florence, Italy.

Mario Navarrete

Mario Navarrete was born in Mexico City, but raised largely in Austin. This is his second season with Aquatics and he especially enjoys teaching swim lessons to children. Mario is also a practitioner of Yangtze water therapy, which uses supported floating in water as a method to overcome trauma or to relax emotionally.
